Hey everyone!
Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC), more fondly known as AKID, is here again! This year, our theme is EXPOSE! and the camp programme will be built around it.
We are currently trying to recruit OGLs, programmers, logistics I/Cs and video + photography geniuses to help make this camp come true. But many pple are 'blur' about what's going on, so this e-mail is meant to let you know the details in order for you to make an informed decision.

FOC Committee Positions
Programmers (~12 needed)
Logistics (~3 needed)
Video-editing & Photography team (~4 needed)
OGLs (as many as possible)
=> These positions are not mutually exclusive. You can take more than one position and which position you want is up to you.
=> Please do not worry about your holiday schedule like working and overseas trips. We will try our best to accomodate them and work something out together. Workload will be delegated according to what you can cope with.
Job Scope
Essentially, programmers will be planning the details of the programme like ice-breakers, West Coast Park games, mini-critique, Round-Island and a night Flasher game. They'll have to try out the games themselves to make sure it works. What determines the success of the camp depends on the creativity of the programmers. We'll require programmers to meet up once in a while to work together. This will be on top of the pre-camp.
Logistics I/Cs will be finding the most suitable locations for games, washing-up and sleeping area. Liasing with the admin office is expected too. They will have to check out locations to make sure they work for the specific programme.
We'll be capturing moments of the camp on video + photos to present as a clip for the finale of the camp. It will be made into a commemorative CD for the freshies & the entire FOC comm. So the video + photog team will be rostered to capture moments at strategic timings and locations, then weave them into a clip.
As for OGLs, do we need to say more? You are there to have fun together with the freshies! Bring them through the camp, enthuse them and perhaps share your sentiments about aki. OGLs are crucial to to the 'spirit' of the camp! While we will allocate some OGLs to be game station I/Cs, everyone will have an OG to belong to. OGLs will have to attend precamp to familiarise themselves with the programme.
Pseudofreshies are seniors who pose as blur freshies. They are there to hype things up. It's an exciting job but it is more challenging than the other positions as you must try to keep your cover. That means if you have juniors or friends that are joining architecture next academic year, you better not be a pseudo. Presently, we will not allocate pseudofreshies until we have sufficient OGLs. In fact, we may be selecting pseudos from the people who sign up as OGLs.
Alright. That sums up what there is to know about AKID04. If you have any enquiries, feel free to ask any of us.
