MeRRy ChRiStMaS everyone!
Look at my tree! Not one that many will wow at, but nonetheless special!
(whoever said smaller trees are easier to decorate)

had a wonderful time out today. the incredibles was great!
but lost this happiness the moment i checked my mail and was reminded of hall stuff.
*sigh*
only when i took a long break from hall then i realise how much i hate to do hall stuff - which is a lot a lot a lot by the way. waaaaay more than i thought initially. & the higher the ladder, the worse it becomes. the politics is immense in EH and human relations is definitely not easy to handle in such an environment. people try to pull rank, wayang; or u have people who r irresponsible and make ur life difficult. isn't the politics in sec sch, n jc enuff to last me a lifetime? the pressure from leadership positions drains the life force out of a person. no doubt abt it man.
whilst sometimes i feel a sense of pride when i say tt i am a eusoffian, i do not feel very eusoffian.... and i mean that my character is very different from the typical eusoffian. i really dun understand how they can make hall the centre of their lives. i dun understand how they can live HAPPILY under the pressure the stifling place has created.
sigh...
i guess it boils down to the fact that most pple are from arts, science, business, engine... such fac's that do not have small cohorts, small tut groups and intense studios/lab sessions like med, law n aki. coz having the typical lect/tut structure, these students do not have make friends out of faculty mates more than a tutorial buddy, lecture neighbour. hence the next best place for friends is hall..... bigger faculties' students may need hall to enrich their social lives, but aki students don't need the extra channel given the amount of time they LIVE in aki.
who stays in hall. . . . . . pple who want to "EXPERIENCE HALL LIFE" coz they believe that you have not lived thru uni if u have not lived in hall; people who want to make friends; people who want to expand their social network; people who want a colourful CCA record ...etc etc etc . . . . . . these are not the only reasons y people would want to stay in hall (they may really need the accomodation near school) but wat i am saying is just that there are a thousand and one reasons y people want to stay in hall... & i have concluded that i have outlived my reason to do so. if i have a choice, i would move out of hall now n drop all my job responsibilities. coz quite simply, what's the point. why get stressed over hall stuff and responsiilities when u r not appreciated and u get shit? & worse still, you dun need the points ( i have more than enuff to stay on u know.... current count... possibly hit a disgusting 60-70 points) and u dun even need hall.
horrible isn't it? but disclaimer: i want to say that my first year in hall was not wasted, in fact well spent in my opinion. the 3 hall comms i did were enriching. dance production - got to know a lot of people. dinner n dance - did designs tt i like. rag - a valuable experience tt i believe i will cherish for a long time to come, and a bunch of friends whom i know are worthy pals.
sigh
SIGH
shall get back to sorting out my stuff..... n tik of happier things
btw i bought a cute egg marker today from kino. it is about the size of ur big toe, shaped in a nice "bu4 dao3 weng1" egg shape. rock it and it will sway back to its upright position. damn cute. damn fun!
