Little Puh-py

added pets on my blog. love them! especially my puh-py! (the bunny is a bit useless for entertainment. it just makes my nose twitch with it. love it nonetheless) when i m a bit not too happy, i'll make puh-py bark. the sound will somehow cheer me up. funny right? and i like to feed it doggy treats. and being the bo liao girl i am, i love to make puh-py to do tricks. and that is an art ok! let me teach u!

Flying Puh-py
1. click on the bag of doggy treats
2. put the treat on the top right hand corner of puh-py's space and click.
3. (puh-py will jump up to eat it in one nice gulp)
4. quickly! pick up another doggy treat and place it on the top left hand corner of puh-py's space and click.
5. quickly feed puh-py again on the top right
6. repeat the above steps for as long as u like

the result should be puh-py gliding across its space (instead of jumping), in and out of the space. if u r good and fast, puh-py might even disappear for a good 40 seconds!

Wobbly head
(not really a trick. i just like to do tt. haha)
u notice when u move ur mouse, puh-py's head will follow? well..... just make ur mouse go round and round and round puh-py's head. *end* i just tik it is funny. :P

heee.... okie.... i should get back to design. spent an hour blogging already.
(for the coming week i'll be mia coz of submission.)

Public Utilities Board (PUB)

well.... yesterday night PUB informed me that water was free. in the end i left my tap running for quite a while. a solid 3 hours i tik. the tap was overworked (obviously), i was gasping so much tt my heart was painful. *ouch* (meh! i dun want heart attack!) and i woke up this morning with super duper puffy eyes *like a muffin*

start of story started yesterday noon when i went to studio (late). i wanted to see my design tutor but he was running late as usual. so i waited... and i even skipped my following history lecture just to see him (and you know how impt history lecture is to me after all that trauma described below) BUT he ran off. :( i almost cried on the spot man. this studio session was the LAST session before final submission (which is on the coming monday) and i have so many question marks to clear up with him. super fed up.

came back to hostel and saw a note in the lift "wanna download music and porn faster? buy my modem for $40! the other bastards are selling for $99! what are you waiting for? if u buy now, you'll get a hot water bottle free! call dave at 80907") pissed. coz that "b******" is me. i'm the only other person selling my modem for $99! wah lau. he make it sound as if i am unethical to sell at such a high price but HE is in fact the unethical fella coz he got his for free from main campus (why i didnt get it for free is YET another pek cek exchange story) i sell for 99 bucks, i lose 85 bucks. he sell for 40 bucks, he earn 40 bucks! tamade. i hope he'll crash and burn the moment he walk out of cumberland house!

i'm having problems selling my modem, tables and other stuff. the modem is most problematic coz no one wants to buy in my school coz woosh gave out modems for free at the beginning of term. and dick smith is offering them for free if u sign up thru them :( i might have to sell on trade me... which i am reluctant to coz it'll just make me more stressed up than i already am. was tiking of selling it in places like auckland and christchurch coz i will be dropping by those cities at the end of the year. but i only have friends in auckland (shuai ge!~ can help me or not. just have to put up notice.)

ya moving on abt my PUB water bill... super fed up. called my mom to complain. PUB. called ek to complain. PUB. but ended up in a heated tiff. hung up on him (sorry. i know u hate tt) coz the tap was too runny n noisy. super pek cek. didnt call him till half an hour later. during which he posted to lecture me *hmph*

well now i'm fine. except for muffin eyes. to the sweet friend who txted, thank u *hug* to the fella who became dorky to make me happy *nibble*. and to the lady who gave good advice i'm grateful.

Boring blog

was just going thru a couple of my friends' blogs & realise how pathetic my blog is. (ok. so i knew tt long ago) utterly boring. largely due my laziness to post entries... & made worse by the fact tt i only post when i'm in a not-so-good mood. so of course the posts R terrible to read. doesnt help tt my new blog skin is so boring. (i swear the cannibalistic girl was a cool blogskin. disturbing but bloody cool)

i'll try to blog more often. put up more photos. & dun worry, i'll be changing the blogskin soon. i cant stand it myself. too small to read.

*yawn* time to go to bed. it's 2.30am already. better call ek & wake him up. he has to go back to sch to make model with kaili & huiping. g'nite!

*bum* !@#$%^&

*bum* i dun feel like doing any work this weekend coz i'm feeling lousy abt the 3 papers i'm doing. you know, like how an incident will mar ur impression of something. well, yeah.... that has happened for all 3 modules. sian.

HISTORY
i failed the first slide test coz it clashed with management hand-in. i dun mind tt coz it was my own choice to concentrate on management. (i got an A for tt mind u!) but i was damn eager to score full marks for my 2nd slide test. which i THOUGHT was at the end of semester since it was written in the course outline. BUT WALA~ i was rudely shocked on thursday when i walked in to lecture and we were going to have slide test !@#$%^&* tamade! how come i didnt knoe?! the 2 nights b4 i spent my time with NUS exchnage stduents from auckland. i drank so much coffee on wed night i couldnt sleep till 5. ended up with only 4 hrs of sleep for the slide test! and the irritating part of the test was it kept asking wat town, wat city, wat region. SORRY ah. i frm sinh-gar-por! we r a country, nation, state, city, town piak into one. *fume* i'm angry abt tt coz i was so determined to score at least 80% for the test. so determined i started studying for it 5 weeks ago! from my point of view, thinking tt the test was at the end of semester, i started studying for the test 9INE weeks before the test! wah lau! i've never been so hardworking before lor! and bloody suay, kena surprise test and burst my bubble! i really dunno how come the rest of the class knew lor. i never skipped a lecture b4. not my fault tt i'm an exchange student in year 3, while the rest r in year 2 right? not my fault tt they r in one clique, i am not rite? !@#$%^&*()

MANAGEMENT
currently involved in a group development project. trying v hard to get along with kiwis. especially this girl. dun misunderstand. i'm lucky i got a group of nice kids. it's just tt we r just different lor. like chicken toking to duck. *pok pok pok* *quack quack quack* it saps my energy to maintain a friendly smiley front... trying damn hard to mingle w them despite all the "sorry? i dun understand" "huh" *puzzled looks* feel a bit like an alien.

DESIGN
sigh.... it's vicious cycle. after history test trauma, i had no mood to work on my design. went to class on friday disappointing my tutor. i had so much interesting work on tuesday and he was expecting a lot from me on fri. but oh well....

i shall go shower, pack up my room and try to feel happier. i tik i shall go out, grab a bowl of mocha from floriditas or something.

*lalalala*

An American's View

From The Straits Times Interactive
Sept 8, 2005 AN AMERICAN'S VIEW

If a giant typhoon were to hit S'pore...

Bruce Sterling, an American science fiction writer, was in Singapore recently. He is best known as a creator of the 'cyberpunk' genre which has plots revolving around computers, artificial intelligence, usually coupled with some breakdown in social order. He blogged these observations about Singapore:'NOW that I'm out of Singapore, I reckon it's safe to allege that Singapore has tidy, authoritarian, city-state machine politics. Presumably, I won't get sued for libel for saying this. I mean, it's the truth.

Singapore is a very foreign place. Being a Texan, I try not to judge people's political behaviour by any abstract standards. For me, it's all about the neighbours - and Singapore's neighbours are Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. I don't see a lot of oppressed Singaporean dissidents rushing off to the relative freedom of Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. On the contrary, people in Malaysia and Indonesia are amazed by any polity that doesn't run on bribes.

For me, the unsettling aspect of Singapore isn't their repression, which is subtle and always nicely dressed in legalisms.
No, the weird part is the public exhortations, the regime's Taoist PR campaign. They've got some kind of genuine Techno-Confucian Mandate of Heaven thing going on. It's being carried out by really bright, eager, workaholic city apparatchiks who are keenly rehearsed.

If Singapore had just been hit by a giant typhoon, the regime wouldn't be snivelling and making excuses about the hunger and looting. Eco-catastrophe and martial law would surely put the Singapore power-elite really on top of their game. They wouldn't spin their 'clean-up effort'.

They would assign resources, put trained people on the job and actually clean up. Because they are not just a spin machine. They possess competence.

Competence doesn't seem like a big deal until you are forced to realise that your own government has none.'

Survivors from Medan

oh cool there r survivors from the Medan crash.

What is the world coming to

horrors in New Orleans are just overwhelming. just reading the reports of pple losing their minds, i can almost cry. natural disaster is bad enough. and here we have the looting, murders and raping... the descent into anarchy... it's just crazy! why isn't the US government moving faster? racism aside, they could have taken more preventive measures when there were storm predictions. they bloody hell already know Katrina was gonna come! BEFORE Katrina plummeted, they could have evacuated pple, or designated shelters in neighbouring states, have plans in place all over that region just in case. WHEN Katrina was doing her work in New Orleans, surely the government could have started their plannings from that moment! AFTER Katrina's damage, they could have just sent their army personnel down to evacuate pple, offer medical assistance or just give assurance... regardless of meticulous planning! just bloody hell send pple down to the frontline and dispatch orders later! fine. i admit all the 'possibilities' i gave are childish and not entirely possible. but surely the pple in power have more brains, resources and experience than me. they could have done a lot more than their current meagre efforts right? AND yes, 30 over countries have offered assistance to US (including Singapore and NZ - proud of singapore. strange, Malaysia didnt.) what has become of this assistance?? i cant believe the US is still putting together members for a committee to organise these overseas efforts. *sigh* I know organisation is needed given the scale of US and # of countries. but really, is bureaucracy wat we need now? it is almost as if US is not interested in salvaging the situation ASAP coz of the messiness of it all. ok i take tt back... i'm sure they are la. it's just... *sigh* pple are suffering. and most of the pain is not from Hurricane Katrina. but from the aftermath anarchy & the US government's response. and i guess it's all epitomised by Bush - all talk, no substance, no calibre, empty promises. if i feel despair from happy bubble nation New Zealand, wat abt the US victims? i'm sure it feels like hell. literally.

i cant believe the US press actually has space in their papers for speculations of how bush can gain complete control in the legal system since Chief justice died recently. to make it worse, Paris has yet another fire. i dun understand y.
and today, a plane crashed in Medan. all 147 passengers and an additional 30 bystanders on the ground died when Indonesian boeing 737-200 crashed after just ONE minute upon takeoff. how bizarre?! dun these pple have brains at all?? y are all these happening? how much of this damage is man made?

*sigh*
